Newcastle United to make a massive bid for Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic
According to the Italian publication Calciomercato (h/t The Express), Newcastle United are planning to make a massive bid for Fiorentina star and Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic. He has interest from other major clubs across Europe, which could potentially lead to a bidding war.
Newcastle plans to put in a bid worth £85million to bring the Serbian to St. James’ Park and assist them in their fight for survival. They are currently struggling on the lower ends of the Premier League table while being in danger of relegating to the Championship.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Juventus are also keeping tabs on the Serie A superstar ahead of the winter transfer window However, his agent had revealed that the chances of a January transfer are far less likely and that he cannot see that happening.
Vlahovic is keen on moving to a club where he would have a great chance of winning the Champions League, which would essentially put an end to the interest from the Magpies. However, Spurs would be affected as well since they are in no position to compete for the European title.
No chance?
With Antonio Conte at the managerial helm, we would have a chance to challenge for titles and extinguish the trophy drought that has been plaguing us for some time. He has proven multiple times already if he is backed, success will follow.
We are far from being a Champions League contender, but with enough improvements, we could reach that level. Arguably, we got into the final in one of Mauricio Pochettino’s worst seasons as the Tottenham manager. Football is always unpredictable, and for that reason, anything is achievable.

In cup competitions, the winners are not always the best teams. There are a multitude of factors that play into the result compared to a league season where a team has more control. We could convince the 21-year-old to join our project under Conte if we continue on the current path.
There have already been considerable improvements within the team, and should we win the matches in hand, we would be in fourth place at the league table. Our performances have also improved in the previous games that we have played, and there is room for more improvements.
