Tottenham Hotspur target Feyenoord centre-back Marcos Senesi amidst other Premier League interest
According to 90Min.com (h/t Manchester Evening News), Tottenham Hotspur have identified Feyenoord centre-back Marcos Senesi as a transfer target amidst interest from other Premier League clubs. He could become a hot prospect if the interested parties are seriously interested in his services in the coming transfer windows.
Nicknamed “Gladiator”, Senesi has earned plaudits from the fans and has become a favourite at his current club. His current contract will expire at the end of the next season, meaning he could be available at a discounted fee, compared to what it would be next month.
The Argentinian has attracted interest from Manchester United, Leeds United, West Ham United and Aston Villa, and he could turn out to be a great addition to the team. The multiple interests are a nod to his quality as a player, which makes it even better if any of them get his services.
Need him?
Antonio Conte has used a three at the back system, which asks for quite a few centre-backs in the team. However, Joe Rodon has hardly been able to get into the squad, which could indicate that he is not trusted.
Davinson Sanchez has fared well in the previous matches that we have played, but we would need to see more from him for a consistent time to trust him again. Cristian Romero is currently injured, and Japhet Tanganga has not gained control over a starting spot in the team.
We would need reinforcements in that department to have a good depth full of quality players to compete with the heavyweights in the league. The 24-year-old can play on either side of the defence as a centre-back which would be a great asset under Conte’s system.

The Argentine defender has earned 13 clean sheets this season, having played in 26 games across all competitions. He also has one goal and two assists during that process which is always a bonus. We could use someone of his talents, especially when the matches get more congested due to the postponed fixtures.
Rotations are necessary, and his flexibility could help him cover for others suited to playing in a specific position in the base of the backline. It remains to be seen where he would end up in the future with all these interests.
