Boost for Tottenham Hotspur as Liverpool miss up to six players for crunch Premier League clash
Tottenham Hotspur will host the Premier League clash against Liverpool tomorrow, where the latter could miss up to six players for various reasons. Coming into this game, Spurs have seen their last three get postponed or cancelled due to the Covid outbreak within the team.
The Reds have problems of their own, which could result in some key players being out of contention tomorrow. Both sides need three points from this fixture for their respective reasons but could have some glaring names missing from the matchday squad.
Speaking in the pre-match presser (h/t Football.London), Jurgen Klopp revealed that the three players who missed the game against Newcastle United could also miss the match against Tottenham. Virgil Van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones missed the action against Newcastle due to a suspected Covid positive test.
“It’s not confirmed yet. It’s an ongoing process – but they are not here. They are fine. In this moment no-one else is positive but it is pretty early still, and the players don’t come here until later so we will see.”
The Merseyside club would also be without long term absentees like Adrian, Nathaniel Phillips and Harvey Elliott, whereas Divock Origi could get involved against the North London side. Time will whether any of the three potential positive cases would be involved tomorrow or not.
While we are sorry to hear that they have potentially contracted Covid, we would take that as a boost ahead of the match tomorrow. Obstacles have been stacked one after the other against us this month, and we would need some luck, and the crucial trio could be that.

We would lack match sharpness, and there is a chance that the fitness may not be at the desired level, having missed games and training sessions due to the virus. Thus, we need a team effort to get through the game tomorrow, and we fans also have to play our part.
