Tottenham Hotspur to battle several European clubs to sign Rubin Kazan forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
According to Football Insider (h/t ESPN), Tottenham Hotspur are in line to engage in battle with several European clubs for the signing of Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. He has generated interest among the Premier League as well as the Serie A clubs.
Tottenham will face competition from the likes of Everton, Southampton, West Ham United and AC Milan for the forward’s signature ahead of the January transfer window. He could be a subject of a bidding war if these clubs follow up on their interest with an official attempt to sign him.
Kvaratskhelia has featured in 68 matches for the Russian side and has scored eight goals alongside 16 assists. He has also been impressive for his national team having netted five times while providing two assists in the process across all competitions.
One for the future?
The Georgian international has still years ahead of him and has not achieved his potential yet. He has started to showcase his qualities over the past year or so and is currently developing well as a player. His most famous impact was against Sweden in the November Qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup where he scored two goals in the 2-0 upset.
The 20-year-old could reach further heights if he has someone who can guide him in the right direction. Antonio Conte could easily fulfil that role since he has already helped numerous players reach their potential.
We could also use some signings to safeguard our future as our current frontline is entering into its latter stages. Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane could use some backups given their recent struggles of late.
Steven Bergwijn has failed to live up to expectations since his move and has struggled to earn minutes under Antonio Conte. Bryan Gil has not fully adapted to the new league and would need time to show his qualities. Ryan Sessegnon has been shifted to the left wing-back role as a backup option to Sergio Reguilon.
