Tottenham Hotspur “plan” to reignite their interest in Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic amidst major competition for his signature
According to The Times (Subscription Required), Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a “plan” to reignite their interest in Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic amidst competition from European clubs. He was once again on the scoresheet in the last game as he equalled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for the most goals scored in a calendar year in Serie A.
Vlahovic will enter the final year of his current contract at the end of the 2021-22 season. He is currently demanding a wage package of around £200,000 per week before tax but, the Italian club only has made an offer worth around £130,000 a week before tax falling short of the expected amount.
The Serb has rejected the offer as a result and is in no rush to change clubs as entering into the final year would give him more control over the Serie A side. They want £77 million in transfer fees for his signature and are pushing to start a bidding war in the January transfer window.
Spurs will face competition from the likes of Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Manchester City and Arsenal for the centre-forward’s signature. Should he continue to keep up this form, we may see more clubs enter the fray.

Harry Kane’s loss of form and the overreliance on Son Heung-Min all point at the importance to add attacking reinforcements. Antonio Conte has used a 3-5-2 system in the last match against Liverpool, and the potential arrival of the 21-year-old could see the formation hit new heights.
Kane has struggled to score in the Premier League, and the Serie A star could help relieve some of that pressure through his quality. Not to mention, we could see a repeat of what Conte did with Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku at Inter Milan.
That makes sense even further when you consider how the England captain has changed his gameplay in recent years. He has improved his playmaking and creative side of the game and has even started to drop deeper to dictate the play.

There are times when there is no focal point to pin the opposition defenders back as Kane drops deep to conduct the play. The Serbian striker would solve that issue while adding more quality to our side.
However, we need Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici to beat the competition for that to happen. It would be expensive, but if Levy has ambition, he will do all he can to land Vlahovic. Whether Conte will start next season with two elite strikers in his squad remains to be seen.
