Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur could swap Giovani Lo Celso for Juventus ace Dejan Kulusevski

According to Gazzetta dello Sport [Print Edition] (h/t The Sun), Tottenham Hotspur could push for a swap deal involving Giovani Lo Celso and Juventus ace Dejan Kulusevski. They are keen on getting the services of the youngster as they try to back Antonio Conte in the transfer market.

Tottenham have shown a concrete interest in the 21-year-old Swede and are competing with Arsenal for his signature. The former is in the lead as Fabio Paratici has information about the forward’s current contract, having brought him to Turin himself.

Conte wants to overhaul the squad in the January transfer window and is an admirer of the Swedish international. He has plans to use the Juve star on the right side of a 3-4-3 system in the project that he is currently building at N17.

Tottenham to exchange Lo Celso for Kulusevski?

Spurs are willing to offer less than £25million for the Serie A winger and are looking to use Lo Celso as a makeweight to push their case. Kulusevski is displeased with his current situation at the Italian club as it has not turned out to be the way he expected since joining them in 2020.

Spurs initiate exchange deal?

The Argentinian has failed in living up to the expectations after his move from Real Betis as injuries kept plaguing him regularly. He has not played much under the Italian coach, so he could be on the way out to pave the way for the Bianconeri attacker.

We do need reinforcements in our forward line compared to our midfield as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Oliver Skipp, and Harry Winks have excelled under the 52-year-old boss. Others like Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele has shown some sparks recently, which could have forced the Argentine midfielder to fall down the pecking order.

Our forward options are very thin, so we cannot go the entire season without having an adequate backup to properly rest the players when needed. Steven Bergwijn and Bryan Gil are our only options to backing the main trio of Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min and Lucas Moura.

The Swede would help us in this case and could develop under the guidance of the Spurs manager. He was stagnated in his two years at the Allianz Stadium and much of it is down to the inconsistent game time that he has received so far.

If Paratici plays his cards right, we could very well land one of the most promising European wide-men this month.
