Harry Winks amongst 10 players set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks is amongst the 10 players who could part ways with the North London side this summer, according to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t Express].
The England international spent last season on loan at Sampdoria. Unfortunately, the 27-year-old missed a large chunk of the initial part of the campaign due to injury. In the end, the Serie A outfit suffered relegation.
Subsequently, Winks has returned to Spurs. However, it does not look like the academy graduate has a future under Ange Postecoglou at the Lilywhites, with the Australian manager prepared to let him leave.
Another name on the outgoing list includes Hugo Lloris. The club captain has spent over a decade as the number one in between the sticks at Tottenham. Unfortunately, it seems like the French national’s time at the North London side is coming to an end.
In defence, a major overhaul is expected. Davinson Sanchez, Japhet Tanganga, Joe Rodon and Sergio Reguilon have been made available on the market. Ivan Perisic looks set to depart as well.
Giovanni Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele, who spent the 2022/23 campaign on a temporary move at Villarreal and Napoli, respectively, are apparently not in Postecoglou’s plans either.
Last season was one to forget for Tottenham. While the summer of 2022 brought a bit of hope with an established manager like Antonio Conte getting a number of additions to his squad, none of those transfers have worked out so far.
In the end, we ended last season in eighth position in the Premier League table and will be without any European football. Thus, while we are getting rid of a host of players, it will evidently be difficult to entice quality players without the allure of the Champions League.

However, Postecoglou’s arrival marks a new era at Spurs. We are set to start from a clean slate. Winks has been unable to make a big enough impact over the years. Thus, it is not a surprise to see the English national be considered surplus to requirements.
