Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris receives £300,000-a-week offer to join Saudi Arabian club
Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris has received a very lucrative offer from an unnamed Saudi Arabian club for a potential summer transfer, as per the Times (Subscription Required).
The 36-year-old is clearly at the dusk of his playing days. He has been bothered by injuries this season and has evidently become error-prone in recent years.
Moreover, his deal expires at the end of next season so this summer could be our last chance to get something in transfer fees for him. He has also retired from France’s national team, so he knows his best years are behind him.
So do Tottenham. Brentford’s David Raya, Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Robert Sanchez have all been linked with potential moves to N17. They all have decent Premier League experience.
Hard to resist
A move for any of them could prove beneficial for us considering they are still in the prime years of their career. It remains to be seen if Lloris takes the offer to move to the Middle East.
The offer will apparently triple his current £100,000-a-week salary at Tottenham Hotspur. That is a hard offer to resist for anyone, especially a player who knows his career is coming to an end.
Neither is Saudi Arabian football hidden from the eyes of the global football fan anymore. Lionel Messi has apparently had an offer from Al-Hilal while Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Al-Nassr in January, making him the highest-paid player in the sport.

This could be a good way for Lloris to see out his career. Although given how much he has played for Spurs this season when fit, it can be argued that he still has a season or two in him for a club playing UEFA Champions League football.
