Tanguy Ndombele keen on Tottenham Hotspur exit after being booed by fans
According to The Athletic [Subscription Required], Tanguy Ndombele has decided to orchestrate a move away from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window after being disrespected by the fans during yesterday’s FA Cup tie against Morecambe.
Tanguy Ndombele enjoyed a decent spell under José Mourinho last season. However, the French star couldn’t live up to his price tag and has often performed below his potential. On top of that, he was dropped from the pecking order by Nuno Espírito Santo and the arrival of Antonio Conte hasn’t improved the situation.
Conte gave Ndombele a start yesterday in the FA Cup tie against Morecambe. However, the French star had a disappointing first half. Conte put the 25-year-old out of his misery by substituting him in the 69th minute. However, the French international was seen taking time to exit the field. The fans couldn’t hold their patience and started booing him by seeing such an action.
It is believed that senior Tottenham officials strongly condemned Ndombele’s actions.
Tottenham signed the French midfielder from Lyon for a whopping price of £55 – a club record at that time. Spurs currently bear a hefty wage of £200,000-a-week for Ndombele, and it would be challenging to find a suiter who would agree to pay such an amount for an out-of-favour star. On top of that, the former Lyon star doesn’t see his contract ending with the North London club until 2025.
The only viable option for Tottenham is a loan move if a team agrees to pay a hefty percentage of his wages.

Ndombele tried to complete a transfer last summer, however, ended up staying. There was interest from Barcelona, but it didn’t materialise into a concrete deal. Even though Ndombele poses the talent to perform in big matches, he has failed to showcase it on the field.
