Dusan Vlahovic admires Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte but prioritises Champions League participation
According to 90min (h/t Mirror), Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic is eyeing Champions League football to decide his next move amidst Tottenham Hotspur interest.
The Serbian has developed into one of the best strikers in Serie A over the last two seasons. The 21-year-old also is one of the frontrunners for the European golden shoe after grabbing 18 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions for Fiorentina. The Serbian star has also given eye-catching performances for his national side.
Vlahovic is currently turning heads in the Premier League with his breathtaking displays. Arsenal have been heavily linked with the Serbian star as Mikel Arteta seeks to replace out-of-favour Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. However, there is massive competition from Tottenham for the striker. Whereas Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are also keeping tabs.
However, the youngster is calm about the situation and is not looking to ‘rush’ the decision. The Serbian is committed to ending the season with Fiorentina and will assess his options in the coming summer transfer window.
However, the 21-year-old has some preferences over where he wants to end up next season. It seems Vlahovic would prefer a team that can provide him guaranteed Champions League football. The Serbian star fears Arsenal won’t qualify for next season’s campaign. Even though the Fiorentina star is interested in working under Antonio Conte, he will prioritise UCL football.
Tottenham’s Harry Kane has suffered a performance drop in this campaign. Even though the English star has picked his form after the arrival of the Italian manager, there is no viable backup available for him in the squad. Therefore, Conte could face long term problems in putting together a robust team sans reinforcements.
Antonio Conte could also find a starting position for Vlahovic in his 3-4-3 formation. Son Heung-min could operate a little deeper in that system, helping accommodate all of Tottenham’s top stars in one playing XI.

However, earning Champions League qualification will be difficult for Tottenham. However, it doesn’t look impossible at this point. Conte is yet to lose a Premier League match and could help the team achieve the top four spot this season. Whether he will succeed remains to be seen.
