PSG target Tottenham Hotspur sporting director Fabio Paratici to replace Leonardo Araujo
According to the French publication Foot Mercato (h/t The Express), PSG have contacted Tottenham Hotspur sporting director Fabio Paratici as they look to replace Leonardo Araujo in the future.
Paratici left Juventus after 11 years in Turin to Tottenham last summer. He has had a mixed time at the helm so far but has done well overall. Cristian Romero, Pape Matar Sarr, Emerson Royal, Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini were the summer arrivals under his reins. He also facilitated transfers for Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur last month.
Leonardo is under pressure at the French capital and could be replaced in the future. The Brazilian oversaw several failed transfers and had complicated relationships with various managers. Paris Saint-Germain have made contact with the Spurs director, as a result, to discuss a potential move.
Be wary
The Italian has drawn flak at times for not landing top targets. However, there are right reasons for the discontent as he was the one who brought in Nuno Espirito Santo instead of others better suited to our profile and aims.
In fairness to him, the 49-year-old did help appoint Antonio Conte as the next man in charge, which was a splendid coup indeed. Not to mention, he salvaged our January transfer window by signing Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur on deadline day.
Six months or so is far less time to fully judge a sporting director as he would probably need more time to instil his identity at the club. Paratici has shown signs of quality despite falling short in some areas. However, that could also be down to the club rather than anything he lacks.

Both Conte and Paratici had worked with each other before during their time together in Turin. They were responsible for a part of Juventus’s dominance in the past decade. With a proven track record, it would be unfair of us to not afford them the same time or resources in London.
After all, the Tottenham duo could repeat the same under the right circumstances. So Daniel Levy should do all he can to retain Paratici.
