Tottenham Hotspur forward Dejan Kulusevski lavishes praise on teammates for helping him settle at the club

Speaking to the club’s official website, Tottenham Hotspur ace Dejan Kulusevski has praised his teammates for helping him settle at his new stomping ground, saying it was an amazing place to be.

The Swede made the move to north London in January, with the English side signing him on an extensive loan spell from Juventus that keeps him at N17 until the end of the 2022/23 season.

When quizzed about his teammates and the competition in the team for the forward positions, Kulusevski said that it does not matter who plays in the team because everyone in the squad has got a lot of qualities and were performing well to help the team continue their recent winning streak in the league.

“There’s so much in this team. It doesn’t really matter who plays, but everybody’s got a lot of qualities, and is doing very good right now. The more we play together, the more we’re going to win, so it’s important that we continue like this.”

Currently on national duty, the winger played both of Sweden’s World Cup qualifiers in a bid to help them secure a spot in the draw for the main event in Qatar. Unfortunately, they were beaten 2-0 by Poland in the decider and will not be able to take part in the competition later this year.

“They help me”

At the club level, the 21-year-old has been brilliant for us since making his debut, scoring in wins against Manchester City and Leeds United as he helps us push for a top-four place at the end of the current campaign, in order to qualify for the Champions League next season.

He was full of praise for his teammates, saying he enjoyed playing with them and that they were always there to help him. The ex-Juve star also said he was feeling loved and happy to be here at Tottenham, and that it was the reason behind him playing well.

“When you’re having fun, you play well, and right now I’m feeling loved, feeling happy to be here, and I enjoy playing with my team-mates. I help them and they help me.”

Alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min, Kulusevski has established himself in the front three and is now an undroppable figure due to his brilliant performances for the club in recent months. It is a stark contrast to his time in Turin recently, where he was struggling for starts.

His displays have seen him reduce Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn to appearances from the bench, despite the two Spurs stars having much more Premier League experience than him. It speaks volumes about his quality that he is first-choice in attack for a side like Tottenham.

It is never easy for any player to move to England and adapt to the physicality and intensity of the top flight, let alone a 21-year-old who has only played in Italy. However, Kulusevski has taken to the league like a duck to water, which will please the supporters and the manager.

Hopefully, we see him and his teammates who he has praised lavishly, help us secure UCL football next season by finishing in fourth place by the summer. Not just this, if he continues performing like this under manager Antonio Conte, we could see the Swede become a permanent fixture in north London at the end of his loan spell.
