Torino set price tag for Tottenham Hotspur target Gleison Bremer amidst Bayern Munich interest
According to Italian publication TuttoJuve (h/t The Sun), Tottenham Hotspur have been told the price tag it would take to sign Torino defender Gleison Bremer amidst interest from Bayern Munich for a summer move. He has been one of their best performers this season as they look to get into the top half of the Serie A table.
Bremer has earned a name for himself across Europe with his excellent performances for the Italian side. That has seen him attract attention from the likes of Tottenham, Bayern Munchen, Manchester United, Arsenal and Juventus. All the interested parties are battling it out with each other to finalise a move for him after this season.
However, they will need to pay at least £25million in transfer fees for the centre-back if they hope to sign him at the end of this term. At the same time, there is always the risk of inflation if the demand keeps increasing in the coming months.
Fair price for Spurs?
The current asking price seems more than fair enough, considering how the 25-year-old has performed for Il Toro. A strong presence in the backline, it is no wonder why the central defender has earned interest from these top European clubs.
For that reason, we need to be wary of our competition as they have the capabilities to pip us in this transfer race. That being said, we require a centre-back in our ranks, with Ben Davies currently playing regularly as a makeshift central defender. Bremer could have the opportunity to make a case for himself and earn regular minutes under a top manager like Antonio Conte.
We also need to keep an eye out for Liverpool and Chelsea, who were previously interested in the Serie A defender. Signing a proven defender in the prime years of his career isn’t the easiest thing in the current market and Spurs would have to be on their toes to sign a player of Bremer’s quality.
Our backline may need a revamp after this campaign, considering how the likes of Joe Rodon and Davinson Sanchez have been cast aside by Conte. Japhet Tanganga, who is currently out for the rest of this term, can also arguably be upgraded upon.
In such a case, Bremer can be a useful option for us, especially when we have struggled to keep our goals recently. That was the same in our recent 5-1 win against Newcastle United in the Premier League, where we failed to keep a clean sheet once again.

Let’s wait and see how our pursuit of securing Bremer’s services will turn out to be as we near the end of this season. The price tag being quoted for him would make him a potentially cheaper signing than Cristiano Romero- with both defenders having made their name in Serie A.
