Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete the permanent transfer for Dejan Kulusevski this summer
According to Daily Mail Online, Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete a permanent transfer for Dejan Kulusevski this summer transfer window. He has been excellent for them so far and has certainly warranted all the praise he has received in a short period.
Tottenham bought Kulusevski from Juventus on an 18-month loan deal worth about £8million. Initially, there were some concerns regarding his move as they signed him late in the January transfer window following their failure to sign Luis Diaz. There were fears that the loan move was a reactionary one, but the Juve loanee has shut down those worries with his displays.
Spurs have the option to facilitate a permanent transfer for Kulusevski at the end of this season. It seems that they will trigger that £25millon clause to reduce the costs in the future. After all, they would have to pay £30million in the future if certain clauses are met moving forward.
Good decision!
The 21-year-old has proven his worth in a matter of months after seeing his career stagnate with the Bianconeri. He was crowned as the Best Young Player in Serie A during his excellent spell at Parma in the 2019-20 season.
However, the Swede’s time in Turin has been disappointing, which raised concerns about his move among the Spurs fans. However, he has found his feet once again under Antonio Conte, having scored twice and assisted five times from 12 games across all competitions this season.
As such, it is a good decision from the North London side to trigger the purchase clause this summer. After all, we would not need to pay the extra sum if the Juve loanee plays in at least 50 percent of our Premier League games for a minimum of 45 minutes next season, and we qualify for the Champions League as well.
While we would need to meet the transfer fees much quicker, it is always good to go down this route if the club is sure that Kulusevksi will become a success in the future. That seems to be the case so far, as he has quickly cemented his spot on the right-wing as a starter, piping Lucas Moura in the process.

Moura has struggled to get into the lineup since then, which shows how good Kulusevski has been for us. There were times when our business in the transfer windows has been questionable, like signing Emerson Royal last summer, for example.
However, Fabio Paratici must deserve the credit for bringing in Kulusevski in January alongside Rodrigo Bentancur. They have made a significant impact so far, and perhaps their contributions could lead us to a CL qualification for the next season.
