Team News: Tottenham Hotspur star Ryan Sessegnon spotted in training ahead of Aston Villa clash
According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur star Ryan Sessegnon has been spotted in training ahead of their Premier League match against Aston Villa. His side will travel to Villa Park on Saturday, 9 April, as they look to continue the momentum following their impressive win against Newcastle United.
Sessegnon had missed the 5-1 rout of Newcastle with a hamstring injury that he suffered quite a while back. However, in a boost to Tottenham, he was seen in a training video ahead of the league fixture against Villa. While he was not involved in the session itself, it is still a piece of good news for them to see that he is close to reaching outdoor work.
However, Spurs have also been handed another update, with this one focusing on Oliver Skipp. But, this information would be another blow for them regarding his recovery. Evening Standard claim that the midfielder has felt some discomfort after returning to outdoor training.
Mixed injury updates
Sessegnon being in and around outdoor training would undoubtedly be a boost for us. After all, wingbacks are a crucial part of Antonio Conte’s system and getting him back to full fitness would be essential in ensuring that Sergio Reguilon would not be run down due to the high demands on the wide areas.
As for Skipp, this latest update would no doubt be concerning, to say the least, considering how he has had this issue for quite a while now. It is stated that the midfielder felt some soreness on his injured pelvis after he had trained individually on Monday and Tuesday.
As such, the Premier League midfielder will now miss the match against Steven Gerrard’s side. The former Fulham man can also be considered to be in the same boat as he is yet to return to team training, going by this latest update.
Skipp’s recovery does really pose some issues looking at how he has been out for more than two months or so right now. Questions need to be raised to understand what went wrong, considering how his setback was not considered to be as serious as this one initially.

The Lions are on the back of a three-match losing streak which we must take advantage of this weekend. The North Londoners are on the opposite end of the spectrum as they are currently in a three game-winning run for now.
Despite that, we cannot take our opponents lightly as we look to gain a foothold in the race to finish in the top four places in the league table. Arsenal handed us the fourth spot following their 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace and now it is up to us to not let up for the rest of this season.
