Tottenham Hotspur target Keane Lewis-Potter tipped to make Premier League transfer

Tottenham Hotspur target Keane Lewis-Potter has been backed to make a transfer to the Premier League following his splendid displays. He has been in fine form this season for Hull City, and his manager Shota Arveladze has previously compared him to former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars as well.

Lewis-Potter has played every single minute in the Championship this term which shows how crucial he is to the Tigers. He has attracted attention from Tottenham as a result of his performances ahead of a potential move. West Ham United have also been linked with a move to sign him this summer.

Speaking in an open interview (h/t HullLive), teammate Richard Smallwood believes the 21-year-old can move to the PL with his quality. Smallwood added that he is not surprised by this situation, having been close to the youngster for a while. However, he also expressed that playing regular minutes in the second division would help him raise his confidence for a better future.

“I’ve not really been surprised by his form, I know he’s got the ability I saw it last season and I see it every day. This season he has had a lot of interest from the Premier League, he has had an England Under 21 call-up, his debut and he has had a great season for us.”

“I think he can go to the next level, but it isn’t doing him no harm playing lots of games at this level just to start with, getting his goals and getting his confidence up. If he keeps doing that, the bids and the interest will keep coming.”

Spurs given more initiative?

It is understandable why the North Londoners are currently tracking the Englishman ahead of the next campaign. After all, he has scored ten goals and four assists for his side this season from 44 appearances across all competitions. That is a solid return for someone who is still progressing to become a future superstar.

The Championship star has been able to replicate a similar level of performance despite being played in a wide range of positions in the attack and midfield this term. That would be a valuable asset for Antonio Conte to have as it would offer him the option to be more flexible with his tactics.

However, his preferred role is still a left-sided midfielder or a left-winger, which makes him a potentially useful signing for us this summer. Bryan Gil is out on loan at Valencia, but it remains to be seen if he can properly adjust to life in the PL once he is back from Spain- given his struggles in the first half of this season.

Steven Bergwijn’s future is also uncertain since he has failed to garner much game time under Conte. A man of his talents would surely want to play more minutes which puts us at risk of losing Bergwijn in the future. On the contrary, Lewis-Potter, if signed, would understand that he must be patient to make a mark on the senior team and take his chances when provided with them.

After all, Spurs are a big step up from Hull as things stand regarding the two club’s statuses. However, with West Ham also vying to secure Lewis-Potter’s services, we are in for a long ride when it comes to this transfer race. As such, let’s wait and see whether he would finalise a move to the PL and if Tottenham could get him or not this summer.
