Real Madrid ruled out of the race for PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino amidst Tottenham Hotspur links
According to the Spanish publication AS (h/t The Express), Real Madrid are ruled out of the race for signing PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino amidst links to Tottenham Hotspur. His future is up in the air despite helping the French side reclaim the Ligue 1 title from Lille.
Pochettino could be removed from his managerial role at Paris Saint-Germain following his failure to get past the Champions League round of 16 stage. He has been linked with a move to Tottenham and Real, although it appears that a move to the Spanish capital is no longer in the cards.
The Madrid club are happy with Carlo Ancelotti, and they will stick their guns with him moving forward. As such, Spurs are handed a free run to sign Pochettino, with Antonio Conte’s future being surrounded by uncertainty. Poch could be assessing his future options behind the scenes, but it remains to be seen whether a move to N17 is probable or not.
Poch to reunite with Spurs?
Conte himself has been linked with an exit after it was claimed that he offered his services to the French club, according to Le Parisien (h/t The Express). This update, coupled with the latest developments, certainly paves the way for a potential merry go round in the summer transfer window.
That being said, we surely hope that such a situation will not come to fruition as the club must look towards the future from here on out. We are grateful for what Pochettino had achieved during his time at North London, but it is high time that we get past his tenure.
Poch was not backed by Daniel Levy, like Manchester City or Liverpool did for Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp respectively, which eventually saw them build strong squads. That does provide a reason to give the Argentine boss a fair chance, but we are not in a position to start things off from scratch.
Conte has come in and done splendid things despite the hiccups along the way. We must look to build a strong project under him by supporting him with the things that he asks for. What’s more, his camp has rejected these links to Paris by stating them to be mere rumours.

Moreover, the Italian manager is also set to hold talks over his future this summer. In such a case, it would not be wise to target Pochettino when we should be sticking to our ground moving forward.
Hence, Los Blancos’ stance should not affect us in any sort of way since backing Conte would be the best route to choose for the future. Let’s hope that the club chooses that path as we near the end of the current season.
