Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur unlikely to sign Hull City starlet Keane Lewis-Potter
According to HullLive, Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to finalise a transfer to sign Hull City starlet Keane Lewis-Potter at this moment. He recently scored a double this weekend to help his side win against Reading by a 3-0 scoreline.
Lewis-Potter is set to be subjected to heavy interest from several Premier League sides in the summer transfer window. Hull are more optimistic about keeping hold of the youngster, and they are likely to offer him a pay rise to achieve that objective. He, however, feels ready to make the jump to the first division right now amidst interest from Tottenham.
Earlier, it was claimed that West Ham United were preparing to make a transfer bid for the Englishman, but that has firmly been denied at this stage. Moreover, it is stated that a move to Spurs or the Hammers is extremely unlikely to happen based on the current situation.
Damning blow?
The 21-year-old has further increased his tally to 12 goals alongside four assists from 46 matches across all competitions this season. That is a solid return for someone who is slowly growing to be a superstar while being on a side that has struggled to get going throughout this campaign.
As such, the latest update would undoubtedly deal a damning blow to the North Londoners if they have plans to boost their left-hand side of the attack. Son Heung-Min would be the obvious starter, but doubts can be raised over Bryan Gil’s physicality when he returns from loan at Valencia.
Moreover, Steven Bergwijn’s future is in an uncertain territory after the winger has previously revealed that he is keeping his options open ahead of this summer. In such a case, a spot could be freed up for Lewis-Potter if Bergwijn’s and Gil’s future lies elsewhere past this season.
However, the latest developments do not fill us with confidence, although Lewis-Potter’s stance about a PL move does instil some hope in us. That also raises concerns over the interest from West Ham, especially after David Moyes personally watched him recently.

What’s more, Brentford, who wanted to sign him last summer and back in January, could potentially be in the mix as well. That is because the Bees manager Thomas Frank was alongside Moyes as they assessed the Championship star.
This situation set things up for an interesting couple of months ahead of the summer transfer window. Whether there would be a turnaround in this case or not would only be known in due time.
