Transfer News: Tottenham look set to miss out on Paulo Dybala
According to Calciomercato (h/t Sun), Tottenham are set to miss out on the signing of Argentinian superstar Paulo Dybala with his agent reported having already held talks with Manchester United and Arsenal over a potential summer move.
The 28-year-old Juventus ace’s agent is said to be in London to listen to offers from Manchester United and Arsenal as he looks to reach a resolution on the future of his client before too long.
Dybala’s contract with the Serie A giants is set to expire at the end of the season and having failed to agree on a new deal, the Argentinean playmaker is expected to be available on a free transfer in the summer.
Definitely not shy of offers, the former Palermo man is a subject of interest from many teams in the Premier League with Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle United being linked with the player.
Despite Spurs’ interest in the player, Sky Sport Italia claim that Dybala’s entourage are preparing a proposal for Manchester United with the player said to be keen on a switch to Old Trafford.
Missed opportunity?
Paulo Dybala is undoubtedly a quality player and would have been a great addition to the Spurs team. He would have been able to thrive in Antonio Conte’s system but Spurs look set to miss out on him.
Despite all the controversy surrounding his future at Juventus this season, the Argentinean international has still managed to play 37 games for the Italian behemoths scoring 15 goals and assisting six during this time.
Such numbers show that Dybala is still very much a top player and has the quality required to succeed in the Premier League. However, his heart seems to be set on Manchester United over Spurs.
