Fabrizio Romano denies that Tottenham Hotspur are in transfer talks with Paulo Dybala
According to the transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur are not engaged in any discussions with Paulo Dybala regarding a potential move this summer. He is set to leave Juventus at the end of this season, which has seen his future be up in the air at this moment.
Earlier, Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida who specialises in transfers, had revealed on Twitter that Tottenham’s Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici had met with Dybala to discuss a potential move to N17 after the current campaign. However, Romano has firmly denied that claim, expressing how Paratici has not begun talks with the attacker.
Romano further conveyed that Antonio Conte is due to meet with the Spurs board to discuss their future plans. That means the management would not make any moves before that meeting, as it would not make sense to sign players before knowing what Conte wants for his current project.
Would Conte ask for Dybala?
Dybala will become a free agent in the summer transfer window, which is a great opportunity to add a world-class superstar to our ranks. He could be a valuable addition to our squad if there are plans to uplift the quality in the attempt to finally challenge for titles moving forward.
The likes of Manchester City and Liverpool have become European heavyweights over the years as they have several world-class players in a single position. Such depth in a single role would lead to healthy competition within the team, forcing them to do their best to get a starting spot.
Dybala could do the same at North London as the Argentine is capable of playing in several positions in the frontline. That would also give Conte the opportunity to change his attacking options without a drop in quality, as he would be enriched with quality options on the bench.

The 28-year-old being available on a free transfer is something that we cannot pass upon, which means that Paratici must discuss the matter with Conte in the meeting that is set to take place shortly. After all, there is no point in signing Dybala if the man in charge has no plans for the forward in his team.
At the same time, it would be best if we speed up our transfer business for this summer as others are likely to approach the Argentinian superstar, especially with him being available for free. Let’s wait and see how the meeting will turn out and what the club’s plans will be at the end of this term.
