Tottenham Hotspur target Leeds United star Jack Harrison amidst Newcastle United interest
According to Daily Mail Online, Tottenham Hotspur are plotting to target Leeds United star Jack Harrison amidst interest from Newcastle United for a potential transfer. He has been one of the few shining lights for his side this season as they have endured a difficult period, having escaped relegation barely.
Tottenham are planning to strengthen their squad this summer as they look to back Antonio Conte with adequate signings to develop his project. Newcastle, meanwhile, would be keen to build on their success from the January transfer window. They would probably want to replicate their splendid business once again after this term.
Both of them have turned their attention to Harrison as they look to raid Elland Road for his services. That being said, whether Leeds would be willing to part ways with the winger or not would only be known in due time.
Harrison to join Spurs?
The Englishman has enjoyed a solid campaign on a personal level, having scored ten goals and assisted twice from 38 matches across all competitions. That output is quite impressive indeed after taking into account how the Whites have disappointed throughout this season.
It is no wonder why the Magpies are keeping tabs on the Premier League ace alongside us at this moment. It would have been best if his team had been relegated, as that could have forced them to sell their star players to compensate for the financial blow.
Unfortunately, that is not the case, and we have to negotiate with Jesse Marsch’s side to reach an agreement regarding a potential move. Spurs would be delighted to know that Harrison is willing to entertain offers from elsewhere, according to The Telegraph (Subscription Required).
The 25-year-old current stance does favour our interest, although the Toons would reap similar benefits at this point. However, the fans would hope that the prospect of playing for Antonio Conte coupled with Champions League football could give the North London side an edge over their competitors.

Then again, Eddie Howe’s side could perhaps provide the Whites forward more chances to earn regular minutes. After all, one would not expect Harrison to start over Son Heung-Min if he does move to N17 this summer. However, the Leeds attacker could become a necessary signing for us in the future.
Steven Bergwijn has already admitted back in March that he is open to leaving us due to lack of game time. We also do not know what lies in store for Bryan Gil’s future when he eventually returns from his loan spell at Valencia. Hence, Harrison could be needed to negate the potential lack of backups this summer.
