Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus opens up on future amidst Tottenham Hotspur transfer links
Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus has provided his thoughts on his future prospects amidst links to Tottenham Hotspur for a potential transfer. He has been on a hot streak of form over the last month or so and has helped his side to win the Premier League title recently.
Jesus’ future with Man City was thrown into uncertain waters when his team had confirmed Erling Haaland’s signing earlier this month. That is without considering how Julian Alvarez is also bound to move to Etihad Stadium in the summer transfer window. The new signings would further dampen Jesus’ chances to earn regular minutes, which has already been an issue for him.
Now, Jesus has sent a message regarding his future plans in an interview with ESPN Brazil (h/t The Sun). The Brazilian has confirmed that he will take a final decision during the holidays, but he is still unsure about his future as of now. That being said, Jesus did mention that he already mentioned his desires to the Citizens if they would hope to keep hold of him moving forward.
“About my future, it’s still uncertain. I have a contract with City and I have already expressed my desire to the City people and to my agent. I have in my head [a very clear idea of] what I want. “And, on vacation, I [will] decide about my future.”
Can Spurs sign Jesus?
It is quite normal for top players like the 25-year-old to keep valued by being regularly depended upon by the manager. That is not the case with Jesus right now, and with the new arrivals, one could argue that he is concerned about his game time from the next season onwards.
The 2022 Qatar World Cup is on the horizon, and if Jesus hopes to prove his worth to his national team manager, Tite, perhaps he will have to entertain offers from elsewhere this summer. Hence, Antonio Conte’s side could potentially be provided with an opportunity to strengthen their squad at the end of this term.
That being said, we have to wait and see what decision Jesus will make regarding his future. It will be in our best interest if he decides to part ways with Pep Guardiola’s side, although whether that is the case or not remains to be seen.

Even if the South American decides to leave the Manchester side, we would not be handed a free run at his signature. Arsenal are in the mix currently, and they would pose a considerable threat as they are on the rise under Mikel Arteta. Moreover, Arteta’s previous affiliation with Jesus may just give them an edge over us.
Then again, we also have advantages of our own, with Champions League football being a major factor as of now. The best players usually want to play in this prestigious competition, so it can be argued that we could be a much more attractive proposition for Jesus for that very reason.
