Tottenham Hotspur battle Leicester City and Everton for Bristol City starlet Alex Scott
According to Football Insider (h/t BristolLive), Tottenham Hotspur will battle it out with Leicester City for the services of Bristol City starlet Alex Scott for a potential transfer in the future. He has been one of the brightest prospects to have come up in the Championship last season, which has resulted in interest from several Premier League sides.
Tottenham appear to be very much interested in signing Scott, considering how they have prepared a “dossier” on the youngster. David Pleat, an advisor for Daniel Levy concerning young talents, is making background checks on the talented prospect ahead of a potential move.
That being said, Spurs will face competition from Leicester, who are looking to bolster their ranks following a disappointing season. The same can be said for Everton, who are pursuing the U-19 England international as well. However, prising him away could prove difficult this summer, so it remains to be seen how this situation will pan out in the coming months.
Can Spurs sign one of the future superstars?
The 18-year-old has drawn comparisons to Manchester City star Jack Grealish which is quite some praise indeed. However, he has mostly been operated as a right wing-back this term which is not his natural position. Despite that, he has impressed with flying colours which shows how dependable he can be.
Scott has developed to become more like a number eight in midfield, unlike an attacking midfielder which many expected him to become in the past. With four goals and two assists to his name from 38 matches in the Championship, there are many signs why PL sides are vying to get their hands on him moving forward.
Securing many talents would undoubtedly boost our prospects as they could potentially become the foundation of our success in the future. Scott could be one among them, but we have to see off competition from the Foxes and the Toffees to facilitate a transfer.

Then again, that is not the only issue we are forced to deal with regarding our pursuit. The Robins talent has a contract until 2025, which does give complete control to Bristol over his future. Should they decide to keep hold of them, we could find it difficult to sign him due to his long deal.
Furthermore, Scott himself expressed following the end of the last campaign that he is happy with life at Ashton Gate. That adds to the list of obstacles we have to overcome to complete a transfer moving forward. Whether he will be with us past this summer or not remains to be seen.
