Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Paulo Dybala in direct contact with Inter Milan chief
According to the transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Paulo Dybala has made direct contact with Inter Milan chief Javier Zanetti for a potential transfer move this summer.
According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur have identified Dybala as a potential transfer target to improve their frontline ahead of the next season.
Dybala is expected to leave Juventus for free when his contract expires in the summer transfer window. That has alerted clubs from the Premier League, with Tottenham being one among them. Manchester United are also in the fray as they look to get their hands on the forward.
However, the Argentine attacker has held direct negotiations with Inter president Zanetti to discuss a potential move. They met with each other before and after the Finalissima match that took place between Argentina and Italy. The Serie A side have been working to reach an agreement for quite some time and have taken the next step for that purpose.
Would Dybala suit Spurs?
We may end up needing reinforcements in the attacking department ahead of the next season, depending on how the situation develops in certain positions. Lucas Moura, for example, could leave Spurs in the summer transfer window as his future at N17 is clouded by uncertainty.
Furthermore, we also need to lay down plans and find someone who can support Harry Kane on the frontline. We only had Kane in our ranks in the previous campaign, which seriously hampered our chances on several occasions when we had to rest him.
Dybala, who can put a shift in several positions, would be useful indeed as he is more than able to play as a false nine or even on the right-wing. That means the 28-year-old can negate our issues with the lack of support for Kane while also being a potential replacement for Moura if he does leave this summer.
Apparently, Spurs met with Dybala last month to discuss the possibility of a probable move this summer. However, since he has held talks with the Nerazzurri as well, we must be on our toes at all times if there are active plans to secure his services.
The Italian heavyweights are confident that they can win this transfer race and bring the South American to Milan to add to their ranks. Now that they have also directly met with him, it remains to be seen how this situation will pan out in the coming weeks.

Signing someone of Dybala’s quality would be a statement from our side indeed, as it would clearly indicate our intentions to build a strong project under Antonio Conte. However, we must only pursue him if the boss believes he has a role for the attacker in his plans.
