Tottenham Hotspur Director of Football thinks Paulo Dybala won’t fit in Antonio Conte’s system
Paulo Dybala is preparing for his Juventus exit by the end of this month, having not renewed his contract. The 28-year-old has spent 7 years in Turin, where he has amassed 293 appearances across all competitions and won five Serie A titles.
There is no shortage of interest in Juve’s outgoing No. 10, but a move to the Premier League is looking extremely unlikely due to his wage demands.
Spurs’ Director of Football Fabio Paratici believes that Dybala doesn’t fit the player profile Antonio Conte is after, according to football.london’s Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold.
Paratici was at Juventus in 2019, when Dybala almost made a sensational switch to Tottenham on Deadline Day, only for the move to not materialise. In a Q&A session, Gold was asked about Dybala’s chances of moving to North London and to which he replied:
“I understand Paratici does not believe he’s the best fit for a Conte Tottenham and Spurs’ managing director of football was one of those keen on moving Dybala out of Juventus back in the summer of 2019”
Spurs do have other targets in place, one of them being Brentford’s Christian Eriksen who is linked with an emotional return to Hotspur Way. As for Dybala, it seems like a race the North London club weren’t going to win.
Dejan Kulusevski’s loan deal is being worked upon to make it permanent and with Harry Kane and Heung-min Son already present, there seems to be little space for Dybala anyway.
Bryan Gil is also set to return from loan while Steven Bergwijn, at least for now, is still on Spurs’ books. Lucas Moura is another player vying for game time.

Moreover, it is highly likely that the Argentine playmaker is headed to Inter Milan. It is best that the club focuses on beefing their defence and midfield, because the attack, at least on paper, seems sorted as of now.
