Swansea City and Middlesbrough among the clubs interested in Tottenham Hotspur starlet Troy Parrott
According to Football.London, Swansea City and Middlesbrough are among the clubs who have shown an interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Troy Parrott on loan this summer. The youngster has finally shown signs of achieving the potential he had shown in the past after impressing in recent times.
Parrott is eager to become a success at Tottenham in the future, and that seems to be achievable if he continues to maintain this trajectory. He wants to go on loan once again this summer to improve himself and then stake his claim at the senior level in the 2023-24 campaign.
The 20-year-old has attracted a host of attention from the Championship for a potential loan move following his impressive spell in the second half of the last campaign. Swansea and Boro are two of the interested parties, but they are also joined by Preston North End and Queens Park Rangers in this pursuit.
Parrott, future replacement for Kane?
The Republic of Ireland international is set to be a part of the pre-season, where he would receive several opportunities to impress Antonio Conte. Even if he makes a glowing impression on the boss, it would be best to let him leave on loan as it would be best for his natural progression.
Parrott seemed to have lost his ways following disappointing spells at Millwall and Ipswich Town. That seemed to be the case at MK Dons last campaign at one point, but things changed in the second half of the season. He has taken that form into the national team as well, which has firmly put him into contention for the starting spot.
That being said, we must choose the right option from those clubs that are interested in taking the Irishman away temporarily this summer. Utmost importance should always be given to his progression firstly and then the monetary benefits that we receive from the said deal.

Parrott will see his current contract at N17 expire at the end of the next season. Fortunately, there is an option that can be triggered in his contract, which will see his deal extended by another year. That does give us some leeway to assess him even further and make an appropriate decision ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
The supporters have become excited once again regarding their academy star after spells of disappointment in the past. We have often struggled to find a backup for Harry Kane in recent seasons, so perhaps Parrott could fulfil that need and even take over the reins from the talisman if he achieves his full potential.
