Tottenham Hotspur plan to offload Sergio Reguilon to Juventus this summer
According to the Italian outlet CalcioMercatoWeb (h/t Football.London), Tottenham Hotspur are looking to offload Sergio Reguilon to Juventus on a potential move in the summer transfer window. His future has been thrown into uncertain waters following the new signing of Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.
Tottenham’s Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici has set things up in a motion to sell Reguilon to Juve this summer. The club chief is looking to raise around £26million in cash through the defender’s sale, but whether an agreement can be reached or not remains to be seen.
Spurs are currently banking on the fact that the Bianconeri require a left-back in their team as of now, which has prompted Paratici to go down this route. Furthermore, the English side believes that the Italian club can meet the asking price for the Spaniard, unlike the case with Barcelona, who are also interested in signing him.
Can Spurs succeed in their attempt?
It remains to be seen if the Serie A giants will accept the proposal from our side in the coming days. Since they need an addition in the full-back position, it would not be too much of a reach to say that the offer may just be accepted in the end.
Then again, we have to wait and see whether the current valuation will be met by Massimiliano Allegri’s side this summer. The fans would hope to see that happen as such a cash windfall would give further boosts to the club’s transfer budget this summer which can be used to make other signings.
We cannot expect much from Barca as they are going through a financial crisis right now. It looks like Reguilon is nearing the end of his tenure at N17 if this update is believed to be true. The 25-year-old failed to take advantage of the opportunities that came his way, which has led to this situation.

The former Real Madrid man had started his time under Antonio Conte with flying colours, but the defender could not take the next step to further develop himself as Ryan Sessegnon did, for example. That seems to have seen Reguilon fall out of favour with the boss, which could have possibly led to Perisic’s signing.
In such a case, it is in the best interest of all the parties that an exit can be facilitated this summer. With Perisic and Sessegnon battling it out for the starting role, Reguilon appears to have lost his spot, so the supporters would love to see a transfer happen as soon as possible.
