Crystal Palace could join Everton in pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Winks
According to The Sun, Crystal Palace could rival Everton in the pursuit to secure the signature of Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Winks in the summer transfer window. His future is in uncertain waters at this moment, having struggled to earn minutes under Antonio Conte last season.
Winks’ future looks set to be away from Tottenham as he is free to leave the club this summer. He had fallen out of favour under Conte, resulting in his prominence getting dwindled, especially in the second half of the previous campaign. Now, they are willing to listen to offers for the midfielder for the right price.
Spurs have slapped a £20million asking price for Winks’ services which could be achieved due to the potentially increased demand. Palace require a midfielder after their Player of the Year Conor Gallagher returned to Chelsea following a splendid loan spell with them. Hence, they could turn their attention towards the Tottenham ace this summer.
Transfer boost for Spurs!
Winks looked set to become a key player under Conte at one point in the previous season. However, the central midfielder failed to improve upon the early promise that he had shown, which resulted in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp piping him to become regular starters.
Following Rodrigo Bentancur’s arrival, things became even more difficult for Winks, although Skipp’s long-term injury seemed to have given him a lifeline. But that was not the case, as Winks could not get into the team despite the lack of competition for the spots.
That goes to show how dire the situation had become for Winks, so it is in the best interests of all the parties to part ways with each other. Now with Patrick Vieira’s side potentially registering their interest in him, he would be provided with enough options to choose from ahead of the upcoming campaign.
That would also favour the North Londoners alongside the England international as it may just give them enough chances to meet their current price tag. After all, the Toffees are eager to bolster their ranks as well, with Frank Lampard looking to better their squad following their close call with relegation.
Furthermore, we are also boosted by the fact that Southampton and Sevilla are pursuing Winks as well right now. The 26-year-old has certainly garnered enough attraction, to say the least, which does give us enough leeway to warrant the current valuation.

Let’s hope that one of the interested parties would meet that price as it would help us raise our transfer budget, which can be used to improve other positions in the squad. Now that we have signed Yves Bissouma, there is no need to worry about lack of depth if Winks eventually is sold.
