Napoli enter the race for Tottenham Hotspur target Kim Min-jae
Fenerbahce centre-back Kim Min-jae is eyeing a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer amidst interest from other European clubs. According to Corriere del Mezzogiorno (h/t football.london), Napoli are the latest club interested in the South Korean as they look to replace Chelsea-bound Kalidou Koulibaly.
The 25-year-old wants to secure a move to Spurs this transfer window. Other clubs interested in him are Everton and Stade Rennes while Napoli have also joined the competition.
The South Korean is the compatriot of Tottenham star Son Heung-min. The centre-back has 40 caps for his international side. Whether this will aid us in winning the race to land the defender remains to be seen.
The 25-year-old signed for Fenerbahce from the Chinese side Beijing Guoan and featured in 39 games for the Super Lig side as they finished second in Turkey’s first tier. To call his first foray in Turkey a success would be an understatement.
The defender was a key part of all the managers Fenerbache had last season. The defender started all of the side’s Europa League group stage games, but unfortunately, they didn’t make it past the group stages.
The Turkish side had a relatively disappointing season but Kim was one of their bright spots. The 1.9-meter defender is an imposing figure who uses his strength and size efficiently.
With Antonio Conte looking to clear out some of the names in the squad and some players wanting to leave for more game time, new additions will be needed to add depth to the squad.
Currently, Tottenham have Cristian Romero, Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Davinson Sanchez, Ben Davies, Japhet Tanganga and Joe Rodon on their books, all of whom have the ability to play in a centre-back position. Clement Lenglet was also added to the squad this summer, albeit on loan.

If any of our current options were to leave this transfer window, fans would feel the club should move for Kim. But with the number of options at Conte’s disposal at the moment, another defender doesn’t seem necessary.
