Tottenham Hotspur star Oliver Skipp misses out on Israel trip with foot injury
According to Alastair Gold on Twitter, talented Spurs midfielder Oliver Skipp is set to miss out on the trip to Israel due to a foot injury he suffered in training.
One of the most talented midfielders to breakthrough into the first team last season, Skipp really impressed under both Nuno Espirito Santos and then Antonio Conte and is very highly rated at the cub.
Skipp returned to Tottenham last summer after a successful season-long loan spell at Norwich City. He has since taken his game up a notch and still has much to offer.
The 21-year-old played 28 times for Spurs last season across all competitions, failing to score or assist a single goal. However, that does not paint a true picture of his influence with Skipp operating exceptionally well from a defensive midfield role.
Skipp is versatile and is capable of playing in a holding role as well as a more advanced central midfield role. Anyone who has seen him play will know that he is adept at playing long balls and also defensively very astute.
The 21-year-old however suffered an unfortunate injury in training which will prevent him from making the trip to Israel and playing the game in a bid to impress Antonio Conte ahead of the current campaign.
Apparently, Skipp got caught strongly on his studs by a challenge which needed stitches to heal the injury. This meant that the English midfielder got ruled out at least for the time being.
