Transfer News: AC Milan are in talks with Tottenham Hotpur for Japhet Tanganga
According to Sky Sports (h/t Football. London), AC Milan are in talks with Tottenham Hotspurer over a move for talented English defender Japhet Tanganga. As things stand, the two parties are not on the same page with regards to the type of transfer.
Milan who want to sign the talented Spurs player on loan. The North Londoners on the other hand, are supposedly keen on making this a permanent deal.
One thing that is clear though is the fact that Spurs are willing to part ways with the player and Milan are interested in signing him and the type of deal is something that can be worked around.
Tanganga is one of the finest players to come out of the Spurs academy in recent years. The talented English youth international has impressed during his short first-team career and has a lot of potential.
Tanganga first caught the eye of former manager Jose Mourinho who gave the youngster several opportunities in the first team. The Portuguese tactician was very impressed with what he saw in the talented 23-year-old and readily put his faith in him.
This season, the English starlet was on the receiving end of an unfortunate injury that he suffered almost immediately after Antonio Conte’s arrival. This meant that Tanganga didn’t get the opportunity to impress his new manager.
One thing that is really special about Tanganga is his ability to play with the same amount of ease at both centre-back and right-back. He is good going forward but equally adept defensively as well.
It is not clear as to why Spurs want to sell Tanganga. The quality he possesses is obvious and despite the signings we have made to reinforce our defence, the 23-year-old could still be of use to us.
