Tottenham Hotspur to rekindle Adama Traore interest if Nicolo Zaniolo deal fails
Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with AS Roma over a deal to sign Nicolo Zaniolo this summer, according to 90min (h/t the Express).
Antonio Conte plans to use the 23-year-old as a wing-back at Spurs, which is a bold decision considering Zaniolo has spent the majority of his career playing as an attacker. Juventus are also interested, which makes the deal a bit more complicated.
An offer of around £42million could do the trick. However, Conte seemingly has another option he could explore if he fails to sign the ex-Inter Milan star.
Spurs are apparently keeping tabs on Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore. He was very close to a move to N17 before joining Barcelona on loan earlier this year.
Spurs back in for Traore?
And now, the Lilywhites could go back in for him if they fail to lure Zaniolo. The Spaniard’s pace and running power are there for all to see.
He has also played and flourished in a right-wing-back role at Wolves under Nuno Espirito Santo. Traore, who came through La Masia, has enough experience in the Premier League to be a top player at Spurs.
Now with UEFA Champions League football secured for next season, perhaps we can get lucky if we go in and make an offer for him. It remains to be seen what transpires in the coming days.
