According to The Evening Standard (h/t Football. London), Spurs are considered frontrunners to sign talented Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic this summer.

Spurs have been linked with a move for the talented defender for quite some time now. Milenkovic is an exceptional talent who has been on the radar of many clubs but the Lilywhites are considered frontrunners.

The 24-year-old has been exceptional for Fiorentina during his time there. The talented Serbian joined the Serie A club from Partizan in 2017 and has gone on to become one of the best players at the club.

Anyone who has seen Milenkovic play knows that he has the defensive abilities to succeed in a Antonio Conte team and he will be a great addition to the Lilywhites if they indeed manage to sign him.

Spurs have made some defensive reinforcements this season. They have signed Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona and he can be a solid option in defence for Conte this season.

However, one player whose future is far from certain is Japhet Tanganga who is constantly linked with a move away from N17. Signing Milenkovic could be the perfect replacement for Spurs.

The Serbian defender is showing promising signs of making it to the very top in the game of football and the fact that it could be in North London sounds like a very exciting prospect for Spurs.
