Transfer News: Tottenham told AS Roma will sell Nicolo Zaniolo but on one of two conditions

According to ASRomaLive (h/t the Express), AS Roma are willing to sell Tottenham Hotspur target Nicolo Zaniolo for either £42million this summer, or on a loan with an obligation to buy clause.

Spurs have apparently accepted that they will have to pay the aforementioned amount if they want to sign the 23-year-old playmaker. Zaniolo has been a vital part of Jose Mourinho’s setup.

However, Paulo Dybala’s arrival from Juventus raises question marks over the importance of Zaniolo to Roma. It is also believed that Mourinho admires four of Spurs’ current players.

Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks, Japhet Tanganga, and Giovani Lo Celso could all be of interest to the former Manchester United manager. However, it remains to be seen if this factors into any deal for Zaniolo.

What should Spurs do?

Juventus have already failed with an attempt to land the Italy international. It remains to be seen if Spurs will succeed if they do make an offer for Zaniolo.

Currently, there are several players that are clearly not in Conte’s plans at the club. If the Lilywhites manage to offload some of the names mentioned above as being of interest to Mourinho, then we can rake in a neat amount to help out with our pursuit of Zaniolo.

Spurs did not look like they needed any helping hand in their attack against Southampton yesterday. Despite Richarlison being suspended, Spurs’ front three of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, and Dejan Kulusevski put the Saints to the sword.

More Tottenham News:

It remains to be seen if Zaniolo could fit into the Italian’s plans if he does come to N17. With the Premier League season already underway and the September 1 transfer deadline getting closer, Spurs must be quick if they want to sign the 23-year-old.
