Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement to sign Destiny Udogie
According to popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Tottenham have reached an agreement with Serie A club Udinese to sign talented Italian left-back Destiny Udogie.
It has emerged that the Lilywhites will sign him and loan him back to the Serie A club for the current campaign. Udogie will join Spurs at N17 in the summer of 2023 once the current campaign ends.
Fabio Paratici was supposedly key in signing the talented full-back. The Italian sporting director has great connections in the Serie A and he wanted Spurs to sign up the prodigious Italian talent.
Spurs are set to offer more than €20m to Udinese to sign the 19-year-old after agreeing to personal terms with the player and it is easy to understand why they chose to loan him back so that he can continue his development.
The Lilywhites have made a number of acquisitions in the summer and Udogie is the latest addition to the list. However, Spurs have a number of left-wing-backs and it won’t be an issue to not have the Italian.
Spurs signed Ivan Perisic on a free earlier this transfer window and he is expected to occupy the left wing-back role alongside the talented English youngster Ryan Sessegnon who also plays that role in a Conte team.
There is also the curious case of Sergio Reguilon. The Spaniard finds himself out of favour under Antonio Conte but if he doesn’t have a buying club, will add further depth to our roster.
