Tottenham Hotspur star Tanguy Ndombele to undergo Napoli medical
According to respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has agreed on personal terms with Italian outfit Napoli ahead of a loan move. He will now undergo his medical.
Napoli have been after the Frenchman’s signature since it was made evident that he had no part to play in the 2022/23 season for Tottenham. His fall from grace in the past few years has been disappointing to behold.
As envisaged by the manager Antonio Conte who has been vocal with the crop of players he would like to have at his disposal and players who are allowed to leave with Ndombele being one of them.
Napoli are set to sign Tanguy Ndombele from Tottenham as fee was agreed days ago, now deal completed also on personal terms. Medical scheduled on Thursday in Italy. Here we go. 🚨🇫🇷 #Napoli

What went wrong for Ndombele?
Ndombele was signed from Lyon for a hefty £60m price tag, becoming the most expensive transfer in the club’s history, after an impressive season with the French side. Many top clubs were after his signature but he chose Spurs as his next destination.
Consequently, a lot of hype and excitement came with the player who was known in France for his exquisite style of play and skill sets which are unique to many modern players.
As is in the talk in our club, Ndombele might be the best Spurs player on the ball but the worst one off it. On the ball, Tanguy boasts exceptional quality but his game is let down by his below-par tactical awareness and work rate off the ball.
Such qualities might be allowed to occur in Europe’s other leagues but the Premier League is a different beast where a midfielder is required to work as hard off the ball as on it.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Ndombele is scheduled for a medical with the Italian side ahead of a loan move with an option to make the move permanent.
It is a move which makes sense for all parties involved as Napoli will be getting a very talented midfielder who will be willing to put in a shift ahead of the World Cup. A loan deal will allow them to properly assess the player before making a decision.

For Tanguy, it is a chance to rediscover his form which made him our most expensive signing and regain his confidence playing a central role in a good side under Maurizio Sarri and who knows, maybe he will come back a different man next season and contest for a place in the Spurs starting XI.
