Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang chooses Real Madrid over Tottenham twice in quick-fire questions

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang really dislikes Tottenham Hotspur, it seems. The Gabon international had a successful stint at Arsenal that ended last summer on mutual consent.

The striker then joined Barcelona and went on to score 13 goals in 23 appearances across all competitions for them. Any Barca player would have a natural hatred for Real Madrid embedded within them – at least that is what their fans would expect.

However, Aubameyang really seems to have a grudge against Spurs. Being put through a rapid-fire round of questions on ESPNFC, the 2015 African Footballer of the Year was asked to choose between Karim Benzema and Harry Kane.

He chose the former. When asked to pick between Spurs and Los Blancos, he picked the latter. Strange, considering he is still on Barca’s books but it can still be taken as a compliment by the Lilywhites for the impression we’ve seemed to have left on him.

No hard feelings!

We don’t really need a Gunner to like us, anyway. Kane vs Benzema is an argument for the ages but it’s understandable that some rate the Frenchman over the 2018 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner.

He enjoyed a good record against Tottenham in the past. The former Borussia Dortmund star has eight goals against us in 12 games across all competitions, winning four, drawing two, and losing six times.

Auba is now in the last few years of his playing career and is linked with a move away from Camp Nou, incidentally to another one of Spurs’ arch-rivals, Chelsea. He could also face us once again in the UEFA Champions League this season.
