Confirmed: Tottenham Hotspur draw Nottingham Forest in round three of the 2022/23 Carabao Cup

Tottenham Hotspur have been told their opponents for round three of the Carabao Cup, as confirmed by the official club account on Twitter. They will face fellow Premier League side, Nottingham Forest.

The draw was conducted on Wednesday night, August 24, and was hosted by Liverpool legend John Barnes and Tranmere Rovers icon John Aldridge. Spurs were allotted ball number seven in the pot.

The fixtures for the round commence on November 7th, 2022. Spurs faced Wolverhampton Wanderers in this stage of the competition last time and emerged as winners on penalties after drawing 2-2 in regulation time.

Wins against Burnley and West Ham United followed but they bowed out of the competition in the semi-final against Chelsea by an aggregate scoreline of 3-0.

Spurs must take this seriously

Spurs are part of the event English team that are entering the competition in round three. This coterie of PL clubs have been bestowed with this luxury due to their participation in European competitions this season.

It will be an interesting battle and it remains to be seen the kind of team manager Antonio Conte fields for this. This is one of the four trophies available to us this season and the last trophy our club won, all the way back in 2008 against Chelsea in the final.

The Italian manager would be wise to take this competition seriously because if we fail to succeed elsewhere, a win here could finally break our duck and instil our squad with much-needed confidence.

More Tottenham News:

The final takes place on 26th February 2023 and will be the first opportunity for any PL team to win a trophy this season. Liverpool are the defending champions, after beating Chelsea on penalties last year.
