Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal to sign Will Lankshear
Tottenham Hotspur seem to continue their summer spree this season. According to Sky Sports (h/t TeamTalk), Spurs have agreed a deal to sign Will Lankshear from Sheffield United.
It is said that the north London club has agreed a £2 million deal to sign the 17-year-old attacker. The fee is broken into a guaranteed £1 million plus another million in performance-related bonuses.
Lankshear joined the Blades academy last season after he was released by Arsenal’s academy last year. And now a year later, the Blades are selling with a very good profit margin.
Spurs were not the only ones after the talented attacker. The report also adds that Premier League rivals Brentford were also tracking the 17-year-old for some time now. They believed they had a deal, before the late Tottenham intervention.
Antonio Conte has completely revamped the squad this summer. The Italian begins his first full season in charge of the Lilywhites and he has done a phenomenal job with the squad-both on the pitch and off.
Lankshear will join the likes of Tyrell Ashcroft and Josh Keeley to help bolster the youth academy. A highly-rated young striker, the 17-year-old would make an outstanding addition to the young talents already present in the youth setup.
Once the move is completed, he is very unlikely to be part of the senior team. Still very young and inexperienced, he will have the best facilities to help him reach his potential at the north London club.

Given his potential and the fee that Spurs are willing to pay, shows that he is one gem of a player. It will be very less surprising to see him rise through the ranks very quickly. Lankshear could be one to watch for the future.
