Bryan Gil stays at Tottenham Hotspur as deadline day loan move to Valencia collapses

Tottenham Hotspur have kept Bryan Gil at the club after a loan deal with Valencia for the 21-year-old collapsed on deadline day, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

Gil seemed to be set for a move away from Spurs this summer. However, there evidently has been some last-minute change of plan for the North London side.

The Spaniard joined Tottenham last summer from Sevilla. The 21-year-old was considered one of the biggest prospects at the time. Gil still has a lot of potential but he hasn’t featured much for Spurs.

At Tottenham last season, the Spaniard featured 20 times in all competitions. However, the young forward mostly came off the bench to play little cameos for the North London side.

In January 2022, Gil joined Valencia on loan. For Los Che, the 21-year-old played 17 times in all competitions and became a key member of the squad. The Spanish outfit made it to the Copa del Rey final, in which our forward also featured. However, Los Che came out second best on the night.

The summer saw Antonio Conte’s squad getting a revamp. Tottenham brought in several players. To bolster the attack, Spurs got Richarlison from Everton. The North London side already had an abundance of talent up front before the Brazilian’s arrival.

Harry Kane is the talisman of the team. The England international has started the new season on the front foot. His brace against Tottenham Hotspurmade the 29-year-old the player with the most number of goals for a single club in the Premier League.

Tottenham can also count on Son Heung-min, last campaign’s joint Golden Boot winner. January signing Dejan Kulusevski has also made an immediate impact since his arrival. The gaffer also has Lucas Moura as an option.
