Tottenham Hotspur winger Lucas Moura could be out for a few weeks

Tottenham Hotspur could be without Lucas Moura for a few weeks, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge via Givemesport (h/t MSN).

Antonio Conte confirmed ahead of the Spurs game this Saturday that the 30-year-old was suffering from inflammation in his tendon. He is also worried that the winger could be out for a couple of weeks.

About Lucas, he has this inflammation in his tendon.  hope to recover him very soon, because for sure when I was a player, I had a lot of pain in my tendon. You know very well tendon inflammation doesn’t finish in only one week, two weeks.

Bridge also shares the same concern and believes Moura could be out for a few weeks. This will not come as good news to either Conte or the fans.

Spurs did not sign any new player on the deadline day. Plus, Bryan Gil who was supposed to leave for Valencia but saw his deal collapse in the final hours of the Thursday evening, is also injured.

Moura’s absence leaves Conte with three preferred wingers in the side. And Spurs have a run of five games in 14 days, starting with the game against Fulham this Saturday. The Lilywhites will play two Champions League games in that and also travel to face Manchester City in between.

Son Heung-min has gotten off to a very slow start and the South Korean has been lacking his usual bite in front of the goal. Dejan Kulusevski has been in bright form, and Richarlison is expected to get more game time.

Moura has hardly played this season, but his absence will be felt. Despite being down in the pecking order, the Brazilian could have racked up some more minutes during these run of games.

Heavy rotation is expected not only in the front but in almost every other department. Squad depth will play a very important part and these 14 days could potentially decide what type of season we may have.
