Alan Shearer praises Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison for his recent performance
Alan Shearer has said that Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison was ‘superb’ against Fulham on Saturday. Speaking on BBC One (h/t Hitc), the former Newcastle United legend gave his thoughts.
He believes that the 25-year-old did everything right other than scoring a goal. The Brazilian provided the assist for the first goal and had very good link-ups with the other forwards, especially Harry Kane.
He did everything else. He was superb. Everything he did was spot-on. He ran in behind, made it difficult for the defenders.
This was the Brazilian international’s first full start since making the big money move to north London. He became Antonio Conte’s fourth signing of the summer after the club agreed a fee of around £50 million with Everton.
Richarlison played a very good one-two touch with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, before the midfielder slotted the ball into the net in the 40th minute.
The 25-year-old made terrifying runs behind the opposition defence and also had very good link-ups with the players on the pitch. It was a very pleasing performance from the forward and Conte will hope for more of the same.
Harry Kane scored the second goal for Spurs in the 75th minute. This goal took him level with Thierry Henry for most goals in Premier League London derbies with 43. The striker will likely break the record in the next derby this season.
The win against Fulham took Tottenham to the third position on the table with 14 points. They sit one point behind rivals Arsenal. The club is still unbeaten in the league and fans will hope it stays that way for as long as possible.
