The 18-year-old joined the League One side on a season-long loan and has gotten off to a good start there. The England Under-19 striker was the star in their last game as his brace helped Portsmouth climb to second on the table.
There was plenty of praise for the young striker and rightly so. A gem of our academy, he is one player who could have a very bright future at Spurs ahead.
Scarlett’s first goal was a diving header into the bottom corner. His second goal was the winner for his side as his left-foot finish found the back of the net.
This was his third goal in seven league games for his side. The 18-year-old has played in all the matches till now, starting four and coming off the bench in three.
His brace also helped Portsmouth continue their unbeaten start to the season, something akin to Tottenham’s senior team. Antonio Conte will be delighted to know that the young striker is getting better every day.
Spurs have bought in Richarlison this season, with Harry Kane the only recognised striker in the squad. Should the 18-year-old continue his current form, it is likely he could get a place next season in Conte’s squad.
