Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg makes admission about ‘crazy’ Richarlison
Tottenham Hotspur newboy Richarlison made his first start of the season when he played the full 90 minutes in our 2-1 win against Fulham.
He has been brought on as a substitute in the last four league games and has impressed on several occasions. But this was a chance for him to show manager Antonio Conte that he is good enough to be a regular starter for the club.
He did not score but made a crucial assist to open the scoring in the 40th minute. A deft one-two with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the final third set the Denmark international through on goal, and he finished well.
Harry Kane doubled the lead in the second half before Aleksandr Mitrovic’s 83rd-minute striker, which only turned out to be a consolation goal. Richarlison thought he scored in added time to make the score 3-1, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Great start for Richarlison
After the win against the Cottagers, the former Southampton star praised Richarlison (h/t Football.London). The Brazil international was signed from Everton this summer for a fee of £60million.
“Rich is amazing. I don’t know how to say it but I am happy that he is at Spurs. I train with him as well. He’s a fantastic boy with a fantastic mindset. Crazy, but in a good way. He really deserves what comes his way but he has to stay focused and concentrated. Well done to him, honestly.”
Richarlison has provided Spurs with something that they haven’t had for a while – a genuine world-class partner/competition/potential replacement for Harry Kane. The Englishman continues to remain our focal point in attack.

However, he isn’t immune to fitness issues and he cannot keep playing forever. Having a guy like Richarlison eager to impress and possessing the quality to start regularly for the club makes the job a bit easier for our Italian manager.
