Transfer News: Bayern Munich make contact with brother of Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane
According to Liverpool.com, Florian Plettenburg was the journalist who ‘broke the Sadio Mane story’ this summer, whereby he claimed that Bayern Munich wanted to sign the Liverpool winger – which they eventually did.
Keeping that in mind, any update that comes from him regarding the Bavarian giants’ interest in Harry Kane would pique the interest of most Tottenham Hotspur fans. According to Plettenburg (h/t the Express), Bayern have already made contact with Charlie Kane.
Charlie is Harry Kane’s brother and his agent, and the journo adds that the 29-year-old international ‘ can really, really imagine’ paying for the German outfit.
Bayern have seemingly identified Kane as a transfer target after losing Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona this summer. Tottenham, on the other hand, are open to offering a new contract to keep him longer at Spurs.
Spurs have to be wary of Bayern
If Kane played for Bayern since the 2013/14 season – which was the first campaign where the striker made at least 10 Premier League appearances in his career-, then today, he’d have 21 trophies in his cabinet.
The German giants, since the start of the 2013/14 season, have won nine league titles, four DFb German Cups, five German Supercups, and one each of UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Supercup.
Instead, Kane has none. He is yet to win a trophy at Tottenham, which is a major brought up whenever his future at Tottenham is brought up.
Kane is a legend in the Premier League already. He is the third top-scorer in the history of the league with 188 goals for Spurs. Only Wayne Rooney (2008) and Alan Shearer have more (260).
