Report: New Chelsea boss keen to land Tottenham Hotspur superstar

Tottenham ace Harry Kane is now the joint-third highest goal scorer in Premier League history.

Chelsea boss Graham Potter wants to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane

According to Calcio Mercato Web (h/t football.london), Chelsea’s new boss Graham Potter wants to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.

The report adds that a move for the England captain will depend on whether the west London club can offload Romelu Lukaku. The striker is on loan at Inter Milan and is expected to stay there.

It is not surprising that London rivals would want a player like Kane. The Blues have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Armando Broja as their current strikers but could do with a player of Kane’s ability.

Chelsea are interested in Harry Kane.

However, it is unlikely that the 29-year-old would want to join the west London club. There is nothing exceptional that Chelsea can offer that the player has at Tottenham currently.

Antonio Conte has built a very impressive and exciting squad this summer. Such quality players being led by a manager of Conte’s stature has raised the hope that the north London club will break their trophy drought this season.

Kane himself has been on fire this season. The vice-captain has already scored five goals in six league appearances this season, though he is yet to score in the Champions League.

Any club in Europe would love to have a striker like the Englishman in their squad. A lethal player with an eye for goal, he is simply every manager’s dream striker. Chelsea can show interest, but that does not mean they will get the player.

More Tottenham News:

Potter can want whatever he wants but is very unlikely that Tottenham will sell Kane in January or any summer. And even if they do, it definitely won’t be to a rival.
