Transfer News: Manchester United send scouts to watch Davide Frattesi amid Tottenham Hotspur interest
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t The Sun), Manchester United have sent scouts to watch Davide Frattesi amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Sassuolo midfielder joined the club from AS Roma in 2017. But since then he has gone out on loan three times to different clubs like Ascoli, Empoli and Monza.
He has finally earned a place for himself in the senior team this season and he has not disappointed so far. The 23-year-old has gained the attention of a host of clubs with his impressive performances.
Apart from Spurs and United, Brighton & Hove Albion along with West Ham United are also interested in the 23-year-old. Elsewhere, Roma and Inter Milan have also been linked with the player.
With so many clubs showing interest in the midfielder, there is no doubt about his quality in the middle of the park. The Italian international has made nine league appearances for his side this season, scoring three goals in the process.
A physical player with a strong turn of pace and quick to gain back possession, he would be an ideal signing for the Lilywhites. While Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur have been phenomenal for us in the midfield, others have struggled.
Yves Bissouma and Oliver Skipp have not been able to win the trust of Antonio Conte and have hardly featured for the club. Having someone like Frattesi would help in increasing the competition for a place in the starting eleven.
But with so many clubs keeping a tab on the midfielder, it would be wise for the north London club to make a move as soon as possible. Fans will be disappointed if their side loses the race to sign such a talented star.

He could also be on his way to Qatar this summer after being picked by Roberto Mancini last month for Italy’s UEFA Nations League games. A good showing there could see his valuation increase, which could then make things complicated.
