Owen Hargreaves claims Son Heung-Min has the best weak foot in world football

Speaking in an interview with BT Sport (h/t BBC), former English midfielder Owen Hargreaves claims that Tottenham superstar Son Heung-Min has the best weak foot in the world and can score goals with both feet fabulously.

Son scored an absolute screamer against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League as Tottenham beat the German club 3-1. It was one of Son’s two goals that night with Harry Kane scoring the other one.

Much has been made of Son’s poor form at the beginning of the season. He failed to score in the Premier League for a very long time but the South Korean seems to be getting back to his very best.

A scintillating hattrick against Leicester City and this performance against Eintracht Frankfurt reminded everyone of what Son is capable of and what he can bring to the table for Antonio Conte’s side.

In 13 matches for Spurs this season, Son has scored five goals and provided two assists across all competitions. These numbers can be better for a player of the 30-year-old’s calibre but they are bound to improve.

Speaking about the player, Hargreaves has claimed that the South Korean has the best weak foot in the world.

“Son is the best finisher with his weaker foot in the world of football. He could not have hit that volley any sweeter. He can score fabulous goals.”

There are few players in the world who are so comfortable with both feet as Son Heung-min is. He arguably has no weak foot and can shoot equally well with both. One player who comes to mind when talking about two-footed players is Ousmane Dembele.

The French star, much like Son can play equally well with either foot but he is not as prolific a goal scorer as the Tottenham star. It’s an absolute blessing for Spurs that they have Son in their ranks and will want to do so for many more years.

At 30, Son still has a fair bit of time left at the top level. Last season’s golden boot winner, Son along with Kane are arguable Tottenham’s two most important players irrespective of who they sign in the future.

Let’s hope Son’s relationship with Spurs continues for a very long time and that he can continue to score screamers like he did yesterday, with both feet.
