Chris Sutton believes Tottenham Hotspur will get the better of Everton
Speaking in an interview with BBC Sport, former Celtic and Blackburn Rovers forward Chris Sutton has shared his scoreline prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Everton in the Premier League today.
Antonio Conte’s men take on the Toffees in the Premier League today evening as they look to continue their winning ways. After a slight blip a couple of weeks ago, Spurs seem to be picking it up again.
The Lilywhites are placed third in the table with 20 points from nine games, sitting three points behind Manchester City and four points behind league leaders Arsenal. They will want to keep the pressure on the teams at the top.
A match against Everton might look straightforward on paper but Tottenham must underestimate Frank Lampard’s team at their own peril. The Toffees seem to be improving with every passing game.
We cannot take this game lightly and there is no doubt that Conte will line up with a strong team against Everton. We have enough firepower to secure this game, but Everton are a solid team.
Speaking about the clash, Sutton feels that this is a difficult one to predict but he ultimately sees the Lilywhites emerging victorious.
“I think Everton boss Frank Lampard will be quite pragmatic here, but stopping Spurs won’t be easy. Harry Kane is up and running and Son Heung-min is still in my fantasy team and is going to come good soon. So, Tottenham will find a way though. How comfortable this is for them just depends on when they score their first goal”
Sutton has predicted the scoreline 3-1 in favour of Antonio Conte’s men. If that indeed is the case, then it will indeed be a good result for Spurs. It will be yet another step in the right direction.
The Lilywhites have had a somewhat mixed start to the season. After a few scintillating performances at the start, they kind of slipped before eventually picking up with the win against Brighton & Hove Albion.
