Hugo Lloris believes the absence of key players made Manchester United’s job easier vs Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur captain and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris believes that the absence of key players like Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison made it easier for Manchester United to win.
Spurs suffered an embarrassing 2-0 defeat to the Red Devils last night. The north London club was simply outplayed from the first minute and it was a tough night for the fans.
Now, speaking after the game as quoted in Football. London, Lloris believes that the absence of attackers like Kulusevski and Richarlison also played a key part in their defeat.
“We also miss important players that can affect the game, players like Kulusevski, Richarlison. They are offensive players and in that type of game they can create difficulty to the opponent. I think we are capable to play better and you have to also give credit to Manchester United’s performance as today they were the best team.”

Lloris was simply our best player of the night. Had it not been for the Frenchman, the scoreline would have easily been far more embarrassing.
While Harry Kane and Son Heung-min started up-front they lacked the finishing touch. Maybe if Kulusevski or Richarlison were available for selection, things could have gone the other way.
The Swede has not featured for the club this month after picking up an injury on international duty last month. As for Richarlison, the Brazilian picked up an injury during our 2-0 win against Everton last weekend.
Both the players have proven to be a constant threat in the opposition box and there is no doubt that the fans and perhaps Antonio Conte himself was missing the duo.

Fans will hope that Kulusevski at least can be fit for the game against Newcastle United this Sunday. Spurs have not lost a home game this season in any competition, but face a very tricky opponent this weekend.
